n the evening of 13 December 2025, London’s winter social calendar reached one of its most elegant crescendos. Within the historic walls of Raffles London at The OWO, Ronan and Storm Keating’s Emeralds & Ivy Ball returned in full splendour, an occasion where refined glamour, cultural heritage and serious philanthropy converged with purpose.
By the close of the night, more than £800,000 had been raised for Cancer Research UK, reaffirming the ball’s status as one of the capital’s most influential charitable gatherings.
The choice of Raffles London at The OWO was as symbolic as it was spectacular. Formerly the Old War Office, the landmark building on Whitehall carries more than a century of British political and cultural history. Its transformation into one of London’s most exclusive luxury hotels has made it a natural stage for an event that trades in legacy as much as in elegance.
Philanthropy with Proven Reach
Beyond its visual spectacle, the Emeralds & Ivy Ball is defined by its tangible impact. Proceeds from the 2025 event will support Cancer Research UK’s Cancer Awareness Roadshow, a nationwide initiative delivering vital cancer education directly into communities.
Since the ball’s inception in 2006, Emeralds & Ivy has generated over £12.8 million for the Roadshow. The programme has welcomed more than 900,000 visitors, offering face-to-face conversations with specialist nurses about early detection, cancer prevention and recognising symptoms, often in areas where access to healthcare information is limited.
This model of philanthropy, highly visible, community-based and measurable, has become central to the ball’s identity, elevating it beyond symbolic charity into demonstrable social intervention.
The Keating Legacy
The event’s emotional and ethical foundation lies with the Marie Keating Foundation, established following the death of Ronan Keating’s mother, Marie, from breast cancer at the age of 51. The foundation has since become one of Ireland’s leading cancer charities, dedicated to early diagnosis and prevention.
In partnership with Cancer Research UK, the Emeralds & Ivy Ball represents a cross-border philanthropic alliance that blends Irish advocacy with British institutional reach, a collaboration that has quietly but consistently saved lives.

Corporate Patronage and Cultural Capital
The 2025 Emeralds & Ivy Ball was supported by a select group of financial and investment institutions, reflecting the event’s standing within elite corporate circles. Headline sponsorship from Evercore Private Funds Group, alongside support from Sona Asset Management, reinforced the ball’s alignment with long-term stewardship, responsibility and legacy-building, values increasingly central to modern luxury.
Such partnerships are not incidental; they signal how influence, capital and conscience now intersect within contemporary high society.
More Than a Ball
In an era where luxury is increasingly defined by meaning rather than excess, the Emeralds & Ivy Ball stands apart. Its success is not measured solely in chandeliers or couture, but in pounds raised, communities reached, and lives potentially saved.
The £800,000 raised in a single evening is not merely a headline figure, it is proof that tradition, when thoughtfully evolved, still holds extraordinary power.
As guests departed into the December night, the legacy of the Emeralds & Ivy Ball 2025 was already clear: this was not just one of London’s most elegant evenings, but one of its most consequential.
